I should really be going to bed right now, but I have been so anxious to post some photos from my nephew’s christening this past weekend. It was raining like mad when we got to the church…and of course, I don’t own an umbrella. I survived 7 rainy seasons in California without an umbrella. When I first moved out there I kept buying and losing umbrellas, until I finally gave up and stated wearing hooded jackets. They work just as well. Anyway, we got to the church and baby Louis was all smiles - for the first 5 minutes that is. Poor little guy was hungry and tired. I know what that’s like, and the last thing I would want is to be in church surrounded by a bunch of people talking and singing, touching me, and dousing me with holy water. He was a trooper though. He cried through most of it, but he made it. And I imagine that will be the last dress he will be forced to wear.
Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure:

Then we celebrated in the “traditional” style - with food! All great celebrations have great food. I seem to remember a cake (or was there 2 cakes?) and a 20-pound trifle made by the Godmother. (She is always bringing these amazing desserts!) Louis started napping as soon as he got back to his home, so I have no images of him celebrating…i didn’t want to disturb his well earned nap. I did, however, capture some others from the party. I will just post a couple of the kiddie’s for you.
I think this is one of my new favorites - i love the mood in this one of Sean & his Daddy:

This one just kills me - reminds me that we all have that inner child in us (and notice Uncle Bill shaved off that mustache):

and lastly, I captured a bunch of fun images of Vin and his daddy, so I decided to put a few of them together in one of those photobooth image strip thingys:

Apparently I was on a Father/Son Theme that day, which I suppose is appropriate since my focus was on my brother and his son. Well, I am not sure if I am even coherent any longer - my eyes are so droopy! I am off to some sweet dreams. God bless.

I am loving life today. I love spring in New England, and it has finally arrived. I have been feeling so cooped up and trapped in my home, but yesterday the rain stopped. We live across the street from a playground, and I have noticed that the robin’s love to gather there. I have seen 20-30 robin’s there at a time. When I got closer to them yesterday I realized there must be some good food for them - the ground is muddy, ripe for grub. Here are a couple of images of the robin. Since I don’t have a long lens, as I tried to get closer, I scared the robin away. oops. I didn’t mean to disturb it….

For the past couple of weeks the husband and I have noticed some flowers sprouting on our front lawn. I can’t remember the last time I lived somewhere that had planted flowers on the property, so this has been very exciting for me. We were guessing they were tulips, and waiting for them to bloom. Yesterday I noticed their beautiful purple blossoms. I am not sure what kind of flower they are - are they tulips? Anybody know? Here are some of my favorite images of the flowers.
This one, in particular, shows the awesome quality of the spring light yesterday. I love the glowing edges of the flower here - this isn’t photoshop. I only did some minor editing (curves).

This one is a bit more traditional - with the stamen in focus….

and this one - the color of this flower was the most intense. This one looked most like a tulip to me, but I really don’t know a lot about flowers.

That was it for my adventure yesterday. I need to explore my area a bit more - there really is so much around me. We live near 5 different beaches, and I am pretty sure I will be spending alot of time there soon!

Just a quick update to post some pictures from the family Easter celebratrion.
Vin came in his Easter outfit:

Louis is already so much bigger…they grow way too quickly:

The family at the dinner table (my dad is barely visible…)

I know the husband had a blast hiding eggs outside of my parents house for the kids to find. The kids, likewise, seemed to enjoy hunting for eggs. What fun!

That is really it for now. It was so awesome to spend Easter with my family - something I haven’t done in years! Although…the husband and I were missing the celebration on the west coast with the Souza’s….this bi-coastal thing stinks no matter how you look at it.
