Photograhy

I have to confess I have some phobias about bugs. All kinds of bugs - especially spiders. Don’t get me wrong, I have serious respect for all living things…but those arthropods terrify me. (Did you know that lobsters, crabs and shrimp are also arthropods? I call them all “sea spiders”.) Not that long ago I discovered a wolf spider living in my backyard, and I did actually take some pictures of it (with a LONG lens!). I don'’t think I will post those - man those spiders are scary looking close up!! What I did want share today was the fact that I saw this really cool looking dragonfly for the past few days - a dragonfly like I have never seen before. One of the greatest things that photography gives me is this ability to see things differently. It actually has trained me to “see” and pay attention to things I may not otherwise. Or maybe I have it backwards. I have been using a camera in conjuction with “seeing” for so long, I am not necessarily sure how it works. All I know for sure is that I love the moments with just my camera, and the little magical “things” - creatures, people, moments….

So I spent the afternoon today literally stalking this dragonfly. I just found it to be so incredibly beautiful. Enjoy!

Ok, not really…but I do feel special today. A wedding planner that I worked with in San Francisco, Kristeen of Just Weddings just posted a bit about me on her blog. I am so flattered ; ) I will take this opportunity to say that I am available for travel for your destination wedding - contact me for the details!

That being said, if you are looking for a wedding coordinator, you should consider contacting Kristeen. She truly knows her stuff about the “Wedding World”, in fact she coordinated my own wedding (which couldn’t have been more perfect). She is approachable, knowledgeable, and very creative, and gets stuff done like I have never seen. She is willing to travel - and is fluent in Italian. She is really down to earth and easy to work with. What more could you want in a wedding planner? Her packages are fully customizable - you decide how much planning you want - and are reasonably priced. Be sure to check her out, and keep her in mind for your wedding or event!

The joys of being in love. Yes, I have fallen hard…I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with my new lens! Canon EF 85mm F/1.8. It is an amazing piece of equipment - and an awesome addition to my camera bag. Canon rocks! I went out shooting for about 30 minutes yesterday in the afternoon light. Pretty sweet, huh? It’s tack sharp.

I love this one - big brother sitting on the bike texting friends while little brother is saying “get off my darn bike!”
